hey everyone, quick question. i have readjusted my powervalves, have a new belt, and have brand new ramps on the secondary clutch. my question is, why cant i get over 8000 rpm? could it be because my powervalves might be too loose?? i really do not know what to think. hoping someone could give me an idea what to look for.

Check the basics first, verify the actator for the power valves is working properly, verify your clutch weightig is correct also....

well mmy clutching was done by goodwin last winter, and was running good until my power valve pulled through. so thats why im thinkin it might be that they are too loose

well i tightened up my cables some more, they were loose. i checked my belt, it was riding up to spec. and I'm still not seeing the RPM that the SRX usually puts out. tomorrow I'm gunna call my yamaha dealer and see if i can get any input from him. any other suggestions?? thanks everyone

Rusty flywheel? Rubbed through wire somewhere? Servo motor not working properly? Too much clutch weight?

ill look but i do not think so. i have a heated garage, and i have never had a problem with my clutching, it was spot on ever since i had it set. wouldn't a wiring issue be more drastic? like overall performance lose? i have good bottom and mid, its just its not getting to top rpm. could it be because of a new belt??

i was using the 2.5 mm allen wrench method i have seen here. i ended up calling my dealer today. i took apart the secondary, checked the spring, and degree. the dealer told me to check the wear bolts in the back. those were worn WAYYYY down, put new ones in, and now after some miles the belt must have worn in some because I'm seeing the rpm I'm used to seeing. so i would imagine everything is back up to snuff. thanks everyone

either way all is well, and most importantly i learned a few things because of this. so even though i lost some riding time, i gained some experience
