Those of you making your own bushings, where are you buying the stock?

Ace hardware stocks it in various sizes pre made. You could try and turn it to size
I had a machinist make me a helix bushing years ago and he told me that where it's so thin that it was hard to do because the material tends to warp or crush when cutting it on the lathe.I'm not sure how companies mass produce them or what they are using for stock,I had mine cut from oilite bronze.
