Just curious if it is recommended to pre mix your first tank of gas on a new top end? (rings/pistons) Finally looks like I will be able to put some serious miles on the Vipe this weekend and wanted to know if this would be a good idea or to not worry about it. The sled has been run a little bit since the overhaul, loading and general tinkering, but no real miles.

did you coat the cylinders good with some 2 stroke oil when putting it back together. If you did I wouldn't be too worried. You can run 1/2 guart in a full tank just for piece of mind. Maxdlx

I agree with Maxdlx. I just did a couple bearings on the bottom end, but I think for the price of a few spark plugs I'm runnin 1/2 litre of oil in the first tank!

I didn't do the top end. The tech I bought it from did it at the dealership. I guess I better give him a call and find out if he ran any mix through it. Thanks.
