Loss of power. 02 viper

Hello everyone, i was out rideing today for about two hours. On the way back to trailer i noticed that the engine wasn't revving right. The rpm's wouldn't go up as fast and the engine felt sluggish. Made it back to trailer but it was running really rough by then, backfired a couple times. My question is, do you think this could be the carbs acting up or could it be something inside the engine. Thanks for any info.

That would be my first thing I'd look at.. Especially if you didn't happen to give it a good once over this year.
