I have a 97 sx 700. I went to start the sled today and when it is cold it is harder to pull the rope. Well when I pulled it today I got about half way out it stopped right now. with a weird clang I thought it may have locked up. So I grabbed the primary and I could spin that by hand. Pulled the rope and the same thing happened. So I turned the key off and it pulled over did that a few times. Turned the key on and it fired up but running pretty bad. So I shut it down. Had it running pretty good about 3 weeks ago. About 4 hours later I went out and now it has gas dripping from the bottom on the right side.

Is it normal for it to be harder to pull over when cold?? I am thinking I just didn't put enough lead in my a_ _ when I pulled it over the first couple of times. What do you guys think??

is there anything on the right side that could leak fuel?? Its about a 2 ft circle of gas.
My guess is the jets are plugged and the floats are stuck and that's where the gas came from but cant see any fuel coming out of the overfull lines. What do you guys think anything I should be looking for??

Just to double check cylinder 1 is clutch side 2 is middle , cylinder 3 is pull rope side?? Thanks

I'm no pro on sleds... But I'm going to say , car, truck, boat, atv or anything mechanical is harder to turn over cold... Everything is stiff, rope, grease, bearings etc....... as for gas leaking pull your airbox off and feel the bottom of your carbs if their wet than its your bowl seals... if its leaking wile running its from your fuel pump lines to your carbs... If its your float it will flood the cylinder or back up into your air box " maybe", or bad seals on your bowls.. ... If it leaks wile not running its from your fuel pump to your tank.. Dry rotted hoses are most likely your culprit... hope I helped and was semi accurate.

I am going to pull apart today and start checking things out. All the likely culprits are on the left side of the sled the fuel pump, where it goes into the tank, ect. I understand the fuel could just be running across to the right side. Just wondering if there was anything on the right side I should look for. Going to clean carbs again, check all fuel lines, check the things squeeve mentioned. Thanks

Your getting bad spark on one of your plugs. Itl catch everynow and then and itl lock up and most of the time back fire. Take all the plugs out and check spark. Where exactly is it dripping from? I would take airbox off and check lines and clean carbs to

Right now gas is dripping from the belly pan. On the right side. Well took air box off and had gas sitting in the rubber that connects to air box. Mostly on cylinder 3. Opened up the carbs float on cylinder 1 was stuck. I would say stuck open. It wouldn't fall down with the bowls off and holding it upright. If that makes since. Everything else in the carbs where good and clean. Not sure why gas was sitting in 3 since 1 was the one stuck. I think the gas was dripping out of air box and running down. Cleaned the carbs and will check spark after I get it back together. Fuel lines are hard will get new ones tomorrow since the closest place is 40 miles away and going that way tomorrow. The sled has only ran 5 miles this year due to lack of snow in Iowa. So been hoping for SNOW and Hoping for no issues when we get some.

Could a stuck float cause it to lock up as devinzz1 mentioned?? Causing it to run lean or rich. It never backfired but it was weird.

Update

Well I know why it was locking up now. Cylinder 3 was full of gas. Found out when I was checking spark. The fuel was like old faith full shooting out of there. Seems to be running good again just need some snow
