00 MM 700 Water temp light NOT blinking at start up

Hey guys my 2000 Mountain Max 700 is running perfect but when I start it up the water temp is not blinking 3 times I dont even know when it quit working I swapped out the bulb with the high beam bulb so its not the bulb. Does anybody have any ideas where to start?

The light blink is produced by the CDI box when it does it's self test at start up. Can you put a multi meter in the connector socket and start the sled then disconnect the temp sensor? It should flash the temp sensor trouble code continuously for you to troubleshoot. If the CDI is ok you could have a pinched wire in the harness coming up to the hood.

uhhm only the dual bulbs do that, 00 is a single right? in 01 they went dual. thats for the sxrs anyways. if you do have a dual bulb sled i went through the same problem, to test if the bulb works i would take your temp sensor plug off and short the contacts in the plug, it should come on. if not you have a broken wire. mine broke in the wireing harness halfway up the hood, took me for ever to find it until i pulled on it and half if it came out! if you can find a green wire(i think its green if i remember right) and tug on it and see if it pulls out.
