Just got back from a trip up north where our group stopped by to watch a local 800 ft radar run. One guy in our group was looking forward to running his (new to him) 04 ZR 900. Its completely stock with 1400 miles and only 96 studs. After 4 runs his best was 90.3 mph. I didn't think that was to bad being that there is no traction for the first 100 ft. And he was more than happy with that.
We never lined up before this but I knew I'd give him a run if we ever did. Well I had to represent the underdog class so I made a couple runs. I'm also running just 96 trail studs and wasn't expecting great #'s. The first 100 ft was trying to find the limit of traction before I could get on it. And after 4 runs I came away with a best of 93.9 mph. All 4 runs were within a couple tenths of each other.
Well he couldn't believe that a 700 could beat a 900 so he spent the next 1 1/2" hrs making runs trying to find a couple more mph. He got closer with a 91.8.
Other sleds in our group was a piped/clutched 02 XC 800 with an 89.9, and stock 03 ZR 800 with an 86 even. Man I love being an underdog lol.

That's awesome...always funny when a heavier, older, less cc sled can beat up on newer lighter machines...kinda makes me laugh thinking about and I wasn't even there...lol

I flew by the flowage at mach 2 with my hair on fire. No time to race the trails were fantastic. Good job with the mighty SRX

thank you. We had a good day.
Yeah, I remember your sleds, we were drooling your 78. I love those sleds. Congrats on those #'s. It was a perfect day.
Don't suppose you ended up at Wabee Lodge? They hosted the annual "Women on Snow" ride. Its quite a surprise walking into a place and its 90% women. GOOD TIMES !!!
EDIT: Was that you that knew Bill in our group? I saw a group of guys in Yami clothes talking to him.

LOL, small world indeed. That was me that was singled out and mauled on the dance floor to "Dancing Queen" by ABBA. That was around midnight thou.
Don't know if you get up there much, but we stay a Bill's cabin a couple times a year. Maybe see you around.
