My problem is spark. Oh yeah I have a 1990 540 XL-V. First off when i use the choke it filled up the cylinders and crank with fuel, I mean i could not pull start it. Took plugs out and used electric start and fuel just cam blowing out of plug holes. I'm going to replace the pin that goes in top of carb. It seems to have pits in it by the point. Any way I'm having trouble with spark. I have to mess with the thumb throttle to finally get some. I can eventually get it started but soon as I let off a little pressure on the throttle it wants to shut down. Then all off a sudden it will start to idle with my thumb off. I read there is a throttle safety switch but where is it, is there a way that i can solve this problem. Also when i start cruising and let off the throttle it wants to stall unless i get it just right and it will sit and idle. Sorry so long of a note but just a little frustrated. When i mentioned about the choke and fuel in the cylinders when i did get it started fuel would also just pour out of the exhaust. Until it cleared out. The sled runs great just the spark issue at starting it is intermittent. if i run sled shut it down it will fire right back up seems to be just on the first start up of the day or if i let it set for any length of time. Also if i don't use the choke then no fuel build up issue.
