Dim headlight

My buddy has an 88 exciter and complains about how dim the headlight is, even with the high beams on. Does anybody know of a solution, maybe a different bulb or some sort of aftermarket fix. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

has he tried a xenon boosted bulb...they work great!! or does he have voltage problems??
