My 97 still has the original track on it, 5400 miles, and is about due for a replacement soon. What is a good track for the SX700 and how tall of a lug could I go with?

Take the h/e protectors out and put in a 1.5 of your choice. With that said, an 1.5 ripsaw REALLY sh!ts & gets. And is respectable in the pow.

A 1.25 would be the absolute max but would have to wear in a bit.

What issues do you have about taking the protectors out ?

I took mine out on my 97 SX7 w/ ZERO issues.

1.5" would be overkill, no?

With the protectors...they put them on there for a reason so I guess I'd rather just leave them on. I don't do alot of deep powder riding so I don't think I'd need the 1.5
then all you need is a 1 inch camoplast! anything more and you will lose top end

camoplast carve

The carve looks good, I have the camoplast energy on my SRX and I seem to get a good hook up with that, doesn't seem to have as many lugs as the carve though. So many to choose from!

I would reccomend the 1.2" aggressor which has lasted me nearly 10 years but i couldnt find them for sale anymore. Only the 1"

I'd like to get an aggressor track but I can't seem to find any for sale. I might have to go with a camoplast, I'm a dealer for automatic distributors so I can get good deals but they only have camoplast.

Thanks for finding that for me, it's not cheap though. I can get a camoplast for about half that price.

but itl last you half the time and in my opinion the aggressor with its full paddle lugs hook up real good.

Yeah...I was thinking that too. I don't need one right now, but probably before next season so that will give me some time to shop around, maybe I'll get lucky and find something a bit cheaper. Sure isn't cheap maintaining 2 sleds.
