throttle end play is good. 22mm on the oil cable . i read something about lining up marks on the pump boss? burning one quart to 10 15 miles. running real rich

When they fail, they fail at full stroke. It sounds like that's what has happened to yours.
that much oil in that amount of gas ...I find it hard to believe it would even run! you probably got a bad oil pump..replace it!

can i rebuild it? can i test it on the bench somehow? i only ask because the cable looks like it might be fighting me too where it goes into the top of the pump. it doesnt sit in there nicely kinda got to push it down seems sloppy.

Lots of oil pumps falling now. I have not heard of anyone trying to rebuild one though. If you can find the parts to rebuild it, I bet you could. What exactly wears or on them? When mine went it was a stinky yard cover using nearly a tank of oil per tank of gas. I had to buy a new Yamaha pump.

I don't know what goes on these things but I bet someone here does. can I remove the pump without extracting the power plant? looks real tight down yonder with a motor mount placed right on top of the pump. gee wiz is it ever easy?
