hey everyone, today at the local radar runs i got to talking with a guy who rode a viper. turns out he used to have an SRX and had a set of hauck growlers laying around. he gave them to me for FREE!!! they look like they are in great shape. they are the ones were the is 3 separate stingers. looking on line though it looks like it has mounting brackets that go with them. idk if he lost them or what. would hauck sell these mounting brackets? any one have an extra set laying around??

they really aren't mounting brackets they are just heat shields, I sold a set that was on a SRX I bought last year. I don't believe either piece actually had anything to do with mounting. The lower one with the 3 holes for the stingers seems the most important and could be made very easily. the other one just goes over the right shock tower and the pipe lays on it.

would you happen to have any pictures so i can fab some up?? and also what exactly keeps the growlers from bouncing around in the engine bay? do i use the same springs that the stock can uses??

I still have the upper piece on my SRX cause I wasn't going through the trouble of taking it out. The lower one from what I recall was just a flat piece of sheet metal with holes for the stingers. I don't remember if it was rivited or bolted to the belly pan.

i understand that they are loud, i just thought since i got them for free i would at least try it out. and what exactly keeps the stingers in position?? the original can has rubber boots it sits on, and springs to hold it towards the motor.

Mine has a bracket that bolts to the factory mount just above the footwell....A real PITA to get the nut on it, small hands required. Oh yeah they sound good....

I had a set of the Hauck growlers on my 98 SRX a few years back, they do sound awesome, but they were a ticket waiting to happen. I took them off after a few days and sold them. As was mentioned above, they sound awesome, but got too loud after a short time...

well today i called Hauck up, they had the hardware i need. only cost me $25. can't complain. if you go to their website, i have the "loud" silencer. should have it together by this weekend, ill let you guys know how much i like them, thanks for the effort guys!

needaSRX the picture you put up on the last page is the original version of the hack growlers correct? those are louder than the current ones the sell. i think i read that somewhere

the 3 stingers on yours leave through the stock exhaust hole don't they?? the ones i have i have to cut 2 holes in the belly pan. doesn't bother me what the difference is. free is free to me

This is what I have(have to cut 2 holes in the belly pan) on my 02 SRX and its not that "loud" I wondered what the difference was between the two versions....go to Hauck I don't think they make the one in the video anymore??....I could be wrong though

yea i do not think they make the ones that the 3 stingers exit out the stock hole. if you go to their site, they have the loud silencer that has the 3 individual stingers that you have to drill 2 holes, and the trail silencer which funnels out the stock hole
