Well guys I just bought a 11 AC M8 HCR what sweet ride this thing is, it carves and side hills way easier then my MM and the 163 horse power is a beast It feels weird to have a green sled in my garage though seeing my last 10 sleds or so were Yamies I just wanted to upgrade to some newer technology with out a 4 stroke in it.
 
Good luck. You'll have fun with it I completely understand the upgrade just wish Yamaha brought back the 2 smokes!

Not happening unless Yamaha buys out Arctic cat.Find it funny some people are telling themselves the new cat DI600 is a Yamaha design(or has Yamaha input).Nothing could be further from the truth.Its a all cat product(And should be more reliable than ETEC from a design stand point).I hear yeah on the two-stroke part thefindian..My brother went and traded his 06Nytro after a few weeks riding my phazer.He loved the phazer but wanted something different.The only sleds that are lighter are two-strokes.Pulled the trigger on a 2014 MXZ carb 600 sport.Fun sled,just hope it doesn,t get the burndown blues(Temp gauge/long warm up times should help).Good luck with the cat........
 
Thanks guys for the input but if Yamaha ever brings the 2 strokes back I would have to take a look. Hey Mike I sold my MM on the same day I brought the new one home I gave my brother first dibbs and he jumped on it, we are going riding in the morning its suppose to get up to 13F tomorrow oh ya we are going Thursday and Saturday to.
 
I have a customer with 5 of the newer cats, 3 riders. Why do they have 5? one or two is always in the shop. Not just from breakdowns, but collision's as well. Two are currently in our shop for bent A arms. These are very weak and tend to bend very easily. Oh, the ski's are also weak, very light but weak. I don't mind working on the cats, easy to repair, just have to repair or replace often. We ride the same trails and two tracks as our customers., Our old Yamies, just keep going and going. Odd how we seem to be in front at the end of the day. I would have thought our older suspension would be somehow worse, but after a few hundred miles of two tracks they are very smooth. The cats seem to flatten out over the day.
 
Well I guess its a good thing I put a brand new pair of Simmons skies on it before I brought it home as far as the diamond drive and A arms I could see how the trail burners could have problems on and off the brakes hard with all them bumps and woop de doos mixed in. I only run the pow and might catch a stump from time to time or bounce off a tree one of my riding buddies has a 08 M8 with 9000 miles on it that has the original A-arms and diamond drive in it, but honestly when it comes to performance in the deep stuff its really no comparison from my experience that is because I have owned 3 Mountain Max over the years.
 
I made the leap in 2010 when the 800HO came out. Other than upgrading the diamond drive bearing and changing the reeds, this thing has rocked! These things are way stronger in the front end than the nytros. I tried the 2009 Ntro and had the front end twisted up within 500KMs of simple trail ridin. The only down side of these is they like to eat reeds, and the diamond drive bearing needs to be the wide, side load rated bearing (NSK3203B-2RSRTNGC3) works great!

Whats the story with the reeds how do you know when eats one does it flash a code?
