Hi Guys,

First post here, but I have been reading/learning for a while now.

I have had this 1988 EX570 Exciter for a couple of years now, and have had a few issues with it and found this site...so much useful info and you guys are awesome in helping each other out. There are a number of great rides here and some of the builds are incredible. You have inspired me to do a complete rebuild of my machines this summer, but right now I just want to rebuild the carbs and do a few suspension tune ups. I have found the 1991-1993 service manual on line, but I can't seem to find the 1987-1990.

I also have a 1992 EX-570 with a new track, and in great condition, except for the fact that the guy ran it lean and scored the pistons. I have new ones, rings etc to go into it...and get this ride going but that will be this summer. I love these machines. They are great!

Does anyone out there have the 1987-90 service manual in pdf emailable format? I would be glad to share my version as well. I know they are pretty close, but there are a few differences I have discovered in reading the posts in this site. From what I have read here, the carbs probably need needle/seats as the engine floods if left for a few days. It also takes a few minutes to clear itself after it finally starts. Carbs have been rebuilt and balanced. Power valves have been removed/changed and TORS are gone. I know I need to tune up the suspension as she bottoms out once in a while with my 240lb mass sitting on it. :p I also need to update the front suspension, bushings etc as the skiis wobble a bit, side to side. Otherwise, the engine runs fine once it warms up. Still, would like to make this a 1st pull, start and go machine. Here are a few pics.

And the 1992..in better physical condition but the engine needs work.

Did you try exciter sx.com? I just recently picked up a 92 exciter to bring back to life hopefully.

Kilohertz,

Have you been working on your sleds?

Sadly, not yet. It's been a crazy busy year here so far and I still have an engine swap to do in my Prelude before I get to the snow machines. I do however have a heated shop in which to work so even if it gets cold, I will be able to get them done. I think I still need the service manual, but can't remember if I found one last season. :-)

Keep me posted on your progress.
Cheers
