started taking my 5 year old daughter out on rides, she LOVES IT! I am super excited, but think it is time for a helmet if we are going to be getting out on the trails. being that she is 5 and only 37 lbs, she is small. any suggestions for a small helmet that won't break the bank? thanks!!

Mine both have HJC's, think they were around $60 for a youth helmet.

I use ski helmets for my kids they are open faced but came with goggles. I use a good ski mask with them about $35 a piece for both. They haven't complained about being child yet but I am not going on super long rides with them either.

I think I payed about the same as Staggs. MX style and the goggles were another $15.00 or so.

Hockey helmet for now...the people at royal distributing say a full face helmet can be too heavy for small kids. Would be hard on their necks I guess...

Talked with our local dealer who carried these helmets... gmax sells different size cheek pads for the youth helmet allowing the child to wear the helmet for several seasons...or alow the helemt to be used for multiple children ( not at the same time of course ;-) )
