I've only used Yamaha oil in my viper and am simply wondering if anyone prefers a diff oil and why.

can of worms......opened.
I run Mystic oil in my srx and sxr for the past 4 seasons, no issues, and nice clean power valves. (Mystic is the same as citgo sea and snow, which is the same as yamalube.) but only $45/case

The PO's said my two sleds have always ran Yamalube 2S so that's what I run too. My friends use the Arctic Cat APV oil and I prefer the way it smells... but no way I'd switch now.

You'll get alot of opinions on this topic. I've always ran yamalube in my sleds and had good luck with it. I order it by the case, 4 gallons, through partzilla for $98.00.

WOW you must have been bored and wanted a LOT of reading lol.I'm sure this will get it's share of responses but if you really want to read page after page do a search on oil and you'll get all you can handle.I run Amsoil Interceptor because my cousin is a dealer but before that I run Castrol Syntec 2 cycle,Shell Advance Ultra synthetic, one called Prolab synthetic and of course Yamalube.Actually I'm still running the Castrol in my 01 because I had bought up the last stock of the local auto parts store years ago and want to get rid of it.The synthetics are supposed to be better/cleaner burning so the PVs stay cleaner but there are guys that say they've had great luck with Yamalube, personally as long as you can get a good quality oil at a decent price your good.
I just wanted to say that I look forward to another oil debate. The others are a complete BLAST to read!!!
My opinion is probably irrelevant because I'm not valved, but I use Yamalube for no other reason than it's always what I've used in my Yamahas. Hate the smell of Amsoil and how it burns the eyes and nostrils. LOVE the smell of Klotz and it's probably the best there is, but I HATE the price.

Still have a few smokers in the stable. We prefer to run ipone. Usually stock up when it is on sale. Have run shell, motul, and castrol with a break in usually on yamalube. Have found that the valves stay cleaner with ipone but a good shot of sea foam every other tanks works just as well. Betsy typically gets what ever I have left of other stuff as it is a piston port motor and really does not care as long as it is oil. Got some really old stuff in pop top cans to use up at some point in it. I think it even says even rude or mercury snowmobile oil on the cans.
