I currently have a 2000 SRX 700 that has a fast M10 extended to 136" I believe the clutch and everything is still stock in it and would like to wake it up. im not sure of any mods done to the engine but i heard it may have been ported, which i doubt. I am also having trouble with it being slugish on the low end of the throttle until you hit about 5k rpm then it runs fine, going to clean the carbs and hope that fixes the issue. also this things is SOB to start. in a heated shop takes 20-25 pulls, acts like its not getting fuel needed. starts easy if warm still, once cold again it wont want to start.

I'm not trying to be an as$ or anything but welcome to the SRX world of hard starting seems like every thread is about srx hard start

First place you should look is the needle and seats then choke plungers and go from there. That's a 14 yr old sled already and possibly needs to be changed out

As for clutch setup look for a set of heelclickers once setup right they sure haul a$$

i have seen a lot about the hard starting, mine just seems a lot harder than most people complain about. i have heard that its best to keep the stock clutch and change the weights and springs and buying healclickers are sort of a waste of money. I also have seen Mr. viper helping out a lot with clutches, i just dont know how the longer track and M10 will affect the clutch setup.

heel clickers are definitely not a waste of money, but it depends on what you want. If you haven't cleaned the carbs then the pilots are likely plugged leading to your low end and hard starting issues.

That is the plan when I get home since we are finally getting some snow. Where is the best place to order new springs, helix and weights from? or does anyone have some they want to get rid of? I am probably going with the setup that Mr Viper uses.

8DN 20's with 5.5 grams in all holes
w-w-w primary spring
54/46 helix
green secondary spring

This is your set up now? I have
8DN-20's with 4.5g in both holes.
w-w-w spring
Hauck roller with a unknown 48/40 helix silver spring at 90
My RPM's are right on the money and pulled 104 0n GPS. in 1500 feet. I only have trail studs so I spin to win if you know what i mean. Takes about 100 feet before it stops spinning. Don't know if this is what is to be expected but I did beat a skidoo and a nytro to the other end of the track and got spanked by a viper and another viper. Not setup for racing but was happy not to be the last one there

Just a FYI:

your gonna only need 4.5 rivets in each hole.

the helix brand I use is a dalton 54/46, just because its stamped the same from other manufactures doesnt mean they shift the same so results vary with parts differnt then what I test with.

I ran a 51/43 Pioneer Performance helix and had to put a 5.5 Gram nut and bolt from Hauck in the tip, then backed the secondary off to 70 and it was perfect. The shallow finish angle really makes an SRX over rev

I just installed this in my SRX and it runs awesome! Perfect RPMs 8300 hole 8500 top

8bu-00 weights 4.5 inner 3.6 outer
heelclicker white primary 5000 engage
50/38 wrapped at 70

All I can tell you guys is this is how I remebered why I fell in love with these sleds all I can say is WoW!
