We've got a 98 SRX right now that will not pick up RPM, We found one PV cable broken and one Pulled through so we replaced all three cables and one PV.....Start it up and it will not gain any RPM....It acts as if the TORS system is active but I have already bypassed it and still does it. I also checked the continuity to the cdi box from the TORS wires and they are complete... Also i've been through the carbs and everything checks out in there. It really acts like an electrical problem to me, just like its hitting a rev limiter... Also it idles great but as soon as you push the throttle it bogs runs really fat and wont gain RPMs.......Any Ideas? Im kinda leaning toward the CDI box but I have never seen one only fail in one area, Usually if it fails the machine wont run at all?? Any help is greatly appreciated.

if its studdering then its likely the tors switch up at the throttle lever. pinch the pivot point and see if it will rev up while you keep the pivot pin from moving.
you can by pass the lower switch but not the throttle block one.

I checked the throttle switch and it is working as it should according to my meter....Traced all TORS system wires to the CDI from throttle block and lower switch and they are all intact and have continuity.
