How much oil

I have a bone stock 02 srx 700 and was wondering on a average how many miles can a guy get with a tank of oil... I understand there are multiply variables but just looking for some averages thanks

My sled sips the oil. I would estimate, that I go 120 miles on a little more than 1/2 a tank of oil. That's an 04 Viper 700.

About 1 quart of oil per tank of gas. I top mine before each trip so its hard to say but 350-400+ miles per tank of oil wouldn't surprise me at all.
 
I adjusted my oil cable too. Happy to say it was pretty much fine (within tolerance), but good peace of mind anyway to be sure it's set right, not binding, etc.

Seems like he runs a red head.......SxR I think. With light coming on at a quart left (another tank of gas left) I would be looking into it myself.
 
an sXR i should have stated that, but yes i did 1000kms last week and when i was roughly 4 tanks in (gauge was on E for each) when the oil light came on, i must just of squeezed by on that last tank lol. how big is the oil tank on an sxr?
 
I really can't remember, I'm thinking 2 1/2 quarts, but I seem to remember Yamaha upping the capacity to 3 1/2 quarts on newer ones. Don't know what year they started that.
