Going through a new to me Viper. Front has shocks with 3 different springs. one spring is broken and they do not have the same springs on the right as the left. Question is who made a triple rate spring/shock kit for the Viper? Or is this something someone pieced together?

Works Shocks made a set, but I can't see them well enough in th pic to tell if they are Works Shocks or not. I have a set somewhere, so will find them and see if I can tell. Can you post some better pics?

Any chance that is a stock Viper shock with someone else's spring kit? The top of the shocks look like they may be Viper, but can't see the bottoms in the pics.
Also, is there any remaining KYB sticker left near the top of the shock body? If it was there, looks like the spring collar may have worn it off by sliding up and down on the body.
Hygear is very well known for multiple spring setups, not sure about 3 of them for the Viper though, and no idea if yours may be hygear or not.

These shocks have r17j stamped in them. This is an 03. My 02 says r15j. Looks like factory shocks with a spring kit?

I wonder if I should replace the broken spring or just get a set of oem springs. The sled has an expert x and curve xs skis and it was pushing through the corners pretty bad. I am pretty sure the spring broke tonight when I was trying to increase the preload...so even with a good spring it was pushing pretty bad. I ride some tight trails, so I would rather be able to turn than have a smooth ride on the straights. Can I get this triple rate settup to perform well in the twisties?

i have the same set, but my shocks came from excell motorsports. maybe i should give them a shout, but they used these tripple springs on the 3 sniper vipers they built back in 2002. very nasty sled

I would also look at your skid setup. Is the sway bar attached? While front springs contribute to ski pressure there are other factors just as critical.
