Here's the deal, traded a "kid's" rifle for a 95 Vmax 500 LE in fair to decent shape. Good deal in my opinion. I have researched the hell out of mods and upgrades and the rear suspension is first on my list after having ridden this tank a few times. Went out and bought a complete 97 Ultra to rob the xtra-10 out of and finished parting it out. Then I stumbled across a 97 XTC 600 for $150. The XTC has "lost spark" but has a brand new studded track under it and is in good conditon with upgraded skis. The rear suspension has a new shock installed and looks nice. So I have two questions, but might turn into three. 1st, do I swap in the 97 XTC skid under the 95 (I really like the looks of the 95 over the 97) instead of the xtra-10? Is the XTC skid a direct bolt on, no new holes? 2nd, do I try and fix the 97 XTC for the spark problem if thats indeed what it is? Obviously I will check compression, the XTC has 4500 miles on it. I am leaning towards putting the 97 skid under the 95 and also robbing the skis of the 97. 3rd question is do you think I could even swap the 600 motor into the 95 chassis? I would assume the twins didn't change much from 95 to 97? Any and all comments are appreciated!
