Would like to know the pros and cons of a 99 srx, I have a chance of picking this up, what is the difference from my 01 srx? Should I walk from it or grab it? Oh I can get this for a good price. Thanks, Rob

Is there really a con to owning a Yamaha? lol Just have to watch out for the cranks from what I heard. If you look out there you might find a good 01 or 02 for a good price. I have a couple of decent one out my way on craigslist. 01 with 1600 miles on it asking 1800. Maine had a better selection.

better try to get a 2000-up ...they have better ignition better light ,a bit more hp .....but all those sled run good

Not as much HP as your 01, single bulb headlight instead of dual, the hand and thumb warmers will be much warmer than the 01. I'd say pick it up if you can get it for a good price.

it will burn your hand down shag if u change the way they are hook up lollll

i bought a 99 brand new. it could not touch my 97 sx, my 2000 or my 2002 srx,s. with that said, sure grab it if its a clean sled. 3:16 (yammie tony)

I would agree that if it's a good price then grab it up. Regardless of what year maintenance is the key, keep the carbs clean. I think these sleds are awesome, fast and reliable . Now there's 3 words the competition can't use in the same sentence.

Will the 99 take the same spark plugs as the 01? Or can I run BR9ES

Some would say your fine running the ES's, I how ever spend the extra $ on ECS in my SRX's. Cheap insurance if you ask me, especially when you factor in how many sets of plugs you will usually use in a season.

There are little differences that make the 01 a better sled. The 98 99 srx's are still a great sled. I thought that the 98's were the only ones with the crank issue and that if the sled still runs its prob been fixed already. And lastly i have always run br9es in both my srx's with no problems. It is the same heat as a br9ecs just paying more for a little better plug. Or am i wrong?

I use the ecsix plug myself and have been told not to use the es except for fogging or first start up in the fall. I like the iridium plugs as the are certainly harder to foul ,stronger spark and last much longer. The only drawback is cost but if ya don't have to replace as often then they pay for themselves. Again just my opinion.
