Ok guys what's your tricks for getting a cir clip out that just doesn't seem to want to?This is in my 01 SRX that had a mag side failure yesterday for no apparent reason.I'm just getting into the engine now,got the cylinder off and all 3 heads, carbs are on the bench but not yet tore apart. The cir clip may be embedded into the piston a bit from heat.

Also I'd like some thoughts about cleaning the aluminum dust from the base under the piston. There's a lot of grey piston dust lying there and I'm sure it's no doubt in the base too but I REALLY don't want to have to split the base to clean it all out, would I be safe in cleaning up what I can and possibly flushing out the rest with mixed gas?I'll try and get some pics of the piston to show you guys what I'm up against but it looks like they are those damned Weisco's too.
