I haven't ever worried about loosing the little bit of fuel in the line. The fuel pump should hold back what is in the tank. You can use golf tees, old spark plugs or vise grips to pinch off the coolant lines (for heated carbs). Just out of curiousity, What Is Up With Capitalizing Every Word? Hurts My Brain Reading It.

I use some vice grips and just pinch the line where it comes out of the tank.

I place a rag under the carb rack to catch the small amount that's lost when you remove the hoses. I lose more coolant then fuel even with caps/plugs at the ready for the coolant connections.

Really? My Gas keeps slowly flowing unless I pinch the hose.

Yup, just a small amount from each hose coming from the pump.
