I'm trying to figure out the bog that the exciter has just started. I thought it was just the carbs icing b/c of all the snow/cold but it has not gone away. running the sled in november and early december it ran with no bog. now off the line it has one.. temps are much colder, well into the -20c (or below). when reading the manual on where the slow speed adjuster should be set to 1 5/8 turns, but it states that during periods of excessively cold weather it should be turned clock wise. Im at about 2 turns out and it is running better but my question is, how much is to much? anyone else around Sault Ste. marie ON riding an exciter lately? where is your slow speed set?
thanks

Mine developed the same bog earlier this season after I had pulled the carb and gave it a good cleaning....I think I reset it (the Pilot screw) at 1 1/2 turns out after cleaning(I should have counted before removing). It had a bog off the line and idled at around 2700-3000rpms, I took it out to close to 2 turns out and no more bog, plug color looks great and idles about 1500 rpms.
If you plug color looks good around 2 turns should be fine....I have run mine hard the past few weeks and have had no problems.

I have been out and tried a few other things. completely drained the gas and ran the sled empty and fill it bback up with new gas. still has the problem tried the slow adjuster all the way out to 3 turns still has the bog. tried the choke when it bogs and it fires right up. my question now is could this be anything else before i re-clean the carb?
