Quick secondary clutch question

i need a new secondary clutch for my 95 yamaha vmax 600, buddy has one off a 98 sx 600. Will it work?

I honestly don't know, but I have a number for a guy in WI that has one for your sled for $45 if interested.

The clutch itself will work, but the spring and preload are different so if you just do a straight swap your sled may not run right, due to different primary settings and gearing on the newer chassis.

the 98 secondary will not work on the 95, period. you would need a 95 or 96 secondary. the depth of the splines is different between the 95-96 and 97 up secondaries.
