My son has an 85 phazer that is running like crap all of a sudden. It seems like its at 50% power. I have put new plugs in, cleaned the carbs, checked the spark and everything appears good. Would bad gas give me the same symptoms I'm seeing? Any help would be greatly appreciated.Thanks
check the carbs again and try a new fuel filter if it has not been done recently to your knowledge.
also recheck the head bolts torque. they are known to come loose over time.

Ok I'll try and find the fuel filter. What are the torque specs for the heads?

Just did a compression test and I have only 30 lbs on one cylinder and 115 lbs on the other. I guess I'm opening her up. Shitty.

I believe they were loose, I'm not sure what the torque spec is for the heads.
ok the head bolts are supposed to be torqued to 11 ft/lb. the head studs/nuts are supposed to be torqued to 18 ft/lb.
try that and then re-check. I know my uncle's phazer the head was so loose that I could grab the spark plug and wiggle the whole thing.
