I have a 1998 Vmax XTC 700 (with reverse) that I'm considering selling. The problem is, I can't find any other comparable sleds that are for sale, so I don't know where to price it.
It's got about 5000 miles on the engine/body, but the track has been replaced (and extended) to a 128" with only a 1000 or so miles since conversion. The track is in very nice shape.
The body itself is in decent shape as well. No major dents or rips or scratches etc... Very decent shape for it's age. From the pics, you can see it also has plastic skis which were not original to the sled. But a good upgrade in my opinion.
Anyway, if anyone has a good idea of what I should ask for it, let me know.
For reference, I live in Minnesota, north of the Twin Cities.

My buddy is trying to sell one just like it without reverse. All original, 5000 easy miles, looks brand new. Was owned since new by an older couple, never trailered so it never saw salt, I've never seen one so clean, he's trying to get $1600 for it.

They are worth what ever some one is willing to pay for it. Tousley Motorsports in WBL was asking 3K for one at the beginning of the season. I personally think they were high. To me a sled like that with that many miles on it should go for about a $1200. Just my personal opinion.

up north in Manitoba you're looking at around $2000.

$1,250 max If you were close to here I would pay that. Been looking for a black 700 for quite awhile. PM me if you are interested.

Thanks for the feedback.
I have found numerous 97-98 XTC's, but only 500's and 600's around Minnesota (still only the one 700). Asking prices ranging from $1250-$2900. Maybe it's because we are having an above average season for snow, but those prices seem a bit high to me too.... granted, this is what they are ASKING, not what they are selling for. But it's encouraging to see as a seller.

The season is over in 4 weeks. Just remember is not sold now, it will sit all summer.

In keeping with this thread, what is a 1994 VMAX 600 DX worth these days? The sled has 1,900 miles on it.
Thanks,
Zack

FYI, you won't find any original 1997 XTC700's (or XT700's for that matter) since those combinations weren't offered until 1998. You will likely find a bunch of 1997 SX700's, and maybe some 1998 SX700's.

Well, that explains that.
I will list it locally for $1600 and see what happens. I do agree with alswagg. If I don't sell it shortly, it will sit all summer. But that's fine. Storing a 2-place trailer is the same whether it's got one or two sleds on it.
Thanks for all the advice!
