Does anyone have any input on shocks for venom looking to replace the front and rear shocks anyone know of any aftermarket that also fit thanks guys

i can only think of 3 options that will "bolt on" 1. send all for shocks out to pioneer, hygear, etc.. and have them gone through, revalved, resprung. 2. get a set of ohlins off a viper s 3. pay up for a set of works shocks.

Were the Ohlins an OEM part that you can still buy (say from Port or Hauck now)?

I'm sure you can't buy them new anymore. And if you could, you'd have to sit down after seeing the price. Just my 0.02

I believe you have the same shocks that came on the Viper right? I had Pioneer rebuild mine and they work really well. If one of yours is non-rebuildable just pick up a Viper shock and have it rebuilt.

ohlins are a top of the line shock and your gona pay a top of the line price. Used sets come up every now and then but they go quick. The stock kybs are a good shock. You can go as far as to have hygear or another company to put reservoirs on them which will give you the ability to adjust the shock, have added oil capacity, and have nitrogen separated using a bladder. All depends on how much you willing to throw at it.

I plan on replacing my shocks this summer I'm not a small guy on heavy bumps I bottom out pretty hard need something stiffer

I have a set of viper front shocks that I bought for my mountain max only to find out that I needed the shorter set from a viper mountain. They are available if you want a spare set to send out now.

Ouch I could NOT justify spending the value of the sled in shocks, but to each his own. I'm an eBay person myself. Found a works dual rate rear shock with low miles off a viper. Super happy with the easy adjustability over the steel hydro that was in there.

I know people have put the Fox Floats on these older sleds with the srx/sx top mount bracket, has anyone tried putting Apex/Vector shocks on? According to this post the Apex shocks are 16.5": http://www.snowest.com/forum/showthread.php?t=86108, and this post the Viper/SXR are 17.5": http://www.totallyamaha.net/forums/threads/67658-Viper-vs-SXR-shocks-length . So I'm thinking whatever length is lost from the bracket (have no clue if the bracket has to be mounted with a certain orientation?) would about equal out and you'd get close to stock ride-height? Just throwing out ideas that pop into my head lol.
