I have an 01 srx,ported by Mr. Viper,Im looking for a good clutch setup for off trail riding,Im running a 1 1/2 track,geared down 1 tooth on top (22),48/42 helix w green spring,8dn 20 weights w yel /wht/yel primary spring. The sled runs strong on trail ,but doggy in the powder and will only pull 8000 rpm.

it should over rev with that helix. Is the helix known to be those angles for sure or is it a coded helix that you got the specs from somewhere else? also you didnt mention what sec spring and what twist your using.

its stamped 48/42 so that's I figure it is,dont know what brand it is,Im running green spring at 60 degrees

something is way off then, it should over rev quite a bit.
1.) powervalves adjusted right?
2.) what do the plugs look like, rich,lean, piston wash?
3.) 8dn belt?
4.) do you have any other helix to test with besides this one?

don maybe he run a advent-edge helix ......I got a 48-40 and they are pretty aggressive

I have been running this setup for 5 yrs,runs strong on trail ,8400 rpm,,just when you get in 3 or 4 feet of powder it only pulls 8000,just looking for a different clutch setup to try in the powder.

if your gonna run powder, you need something like a straight 41 helix
