Hi guys, I am trying to diagnose a no fuel issue and don't know if it could be the fuel pump or not. I pulled the air box and carbs out and pulled on the rope and get no fuel from the fuel lines. There are no leaks in any of the lines that I can see and I am getting a strong pulse from the pulse line. I can draw fuel out of the fuel lines from sucking on them and they do not seem to be obstructed. Is there any way to test a fuel pump? I hate to just start throwing money at this thing...

If you have good vacuum, the fuel pump SHOULD work. It could have some crud built up in it or a hardened or ripped diaphram causing your issue. It could also be the fuel pick up line has rotted or fallen off. I would run a length of fuel line from a gas can to the intake side of the fuel pump. Give rope a few pulls and see if she pumps. This should tell you if the fuel pump is messed up or not.
