We need more info to give any good advice. Sled ben sitting a while? Could just be crud on motor burning off. Was sled already warmed up with no odor the WOT pull triggered odor? With that scenario I would be looking more towards clutching. Dirty sheave (up high on primary) or (down low on secondary) will cause a little belt slippage = odor.
my wife rode sled all day I just took it to test wide open. everytime I hold it for 1/4 mile or more I get a hot smell then goes away. I don't think its the belt it dosent smell like rubber or even plastic. I thought it was my stock silencer so I put on my bender and it still smells. so today got off work early and took the pipes off looking for some kind of rodent nest and found nothing. I even took off silencer and checked pipe pressure when running and all 3 seem to be the same, so now I know theres no restriction in my exhaust. could it be powervalves not opening all the way. I cleaned and adjusted them to tech pages. I also cleaned both clutches and blew them out with compressor. stumped
