so I have a Gp that I race in snow ovals I just got it this year and have been running it just like I got it..the oval races are only 5 laps and the sled has been running great except for some clutching /gearing issues I have with the short oval tracks...I took the same sled in a 100 mile race this weekend..made it 4 laps and there is no more spark..i haven't had a chance to tare it apart yet but when I tested the plug cap there was 1000 ohms resistance there and the coil that is not factory Yamaha had more resistance than my book said it should have. also I was running a NGK br8es ..so that plug has build in resistance that the plug that the manual says to use dose not....Could that be what caused my problem?
Thanks

get rid of the points use a gpx cdi coil and with very little machine work you can put a exciter or gpx stator and flywheel on it I would use the exciter as there cdis are more reliable ...just got done doing a conversion
I am building a mod sled for next year but the GP is a great stock class sled and I don't want to screw it up..as the rules don't allow me to run a CDI ...but thanks
..
I changed the coil and she fired up first pull....I also bought non resistor plugs for it and a cap with no resistance.
Thanks
