I'm having a hard time trying to remove the chaincase on my 2002 viper. I have all the gears removed and everything out of it, the case is unbolted and somewhat separated by about 1/4 inch. The problem is I cant get it any further...it like something is still holding it??? What do I do from here, I have soaked everything with PB blaster and let it sit overnight and it still wont budge and further. It seems like its loose around the lower shaft but still holding tight around the upper shaft.

Is the sled sitting on the suspension or is it hanging on a track stand. If there is tension on the track by either circumstance it may be causing the axle to shift and cause a little hang up. You could drop the nuts on the clutch side jack shaft bearing and slide the shaft out, then work the chain case off the drive axle?
What are you pulling the case for?

The sled has the track loosened and the rear end is on a stand. I am trying to replace the bearings in the chaincase as I have one that had a meltdown and came apart on my last ride.
