I just want to remove it. I am ok with the pull start. Should just tape up the connecters and pull the battery?

I was told in another thread last year that I could blow the computer module. There is electronic management and diagnostics in mine so I'd not risk it. Guessing could cost big money. Is the battery weak or totally shot.

My battery would barely crank the engine 4 years ago. I had maybe 15 sec of power. I bought one of the Genius 1100 Smart Charges from Canadian Tire. They're made my NOCO and has a charge rate of 1.1A. The can recover weak batteries and will never gas or over charge. I had it on my battery inside for over a month and installed it late fall/winter. Its been cranking that engine now for 3 or 4 years consistently. I put the charger on the battery several times throughout the summer/fall. Saved me the cost of a new battery. I use it on my ATV battery as well.

Highly recommended charger nothing like it. Leaving a battery all year without use or floating will kill the battery. The Genius can bring back partially sulfated batteries as well.

As long as you put a smoothing condenser in (comes on the non-battery 300W models) you should be fine. I wouldn't run it without one of the 2 though.
