Working on my uncles 99 powder special. He lost reverse. I took the chain case apart and the buttons that protrude thru one gear and into the other on the drive shaft where shot along with the ring that holds them in. The ring had been rubbed by the studs ends that hold the bearing race in. Replaced all wore parts and before assembling I checked for clearance and the ring can still be pushed into the stud ends. I have looked at diagrams and there is one thick washer between the splined gear and the Bering face. Anyone have this issue before?

Think I figured it out not sure though. Does anybody know which way the flange points on the bearing? driveshaft chaincase side.

I haven't had to work on any of my friends other brand sleds so I haven't done any parts research yet so I'll ask this. How good is the arctic cat microfiche? Does it show the parts breakdown good enough to use it for assembly? I know that Yamaha diagrams are clear and easy to follow, but no experience with any other brand.

It was so so. But at the dealership today the service guy told me it was backwards call Steve Metcalf and he confirmed. So it's together and tomorrow I will try it out hope it holds up. Being an arctic cat something else might break. Have to give uncle 30/30 warranty.
