did they make a 1997 Vmax 700 xtc deluxe?

hey guys, just asking a question here, first time poster...I currently have 2 - 1998 yammi vmax 700 xtc deluxe's, and i love the sleds.... i recently came accross one online, not too far away, the pics show identical to both mine, but owner claims that the registration says its a 1997, he was looking at it as we spoke.....To the best of my knowledge, they did not make these until 1998, am i wrong?

any thought fellas...would love to pick up a third as a spare sled. Will likely buy it anyways, just looking for any thoughts on the model year..

One way to tell if its a 97 is if it doesn't have the heated carbs, heated carbs didn't come out til 98.

he is probably looking at tag on tunnel.it will show build date ---97 but sold new .as 98 possibly.my son has an 01 but was and is registered as 2000.

1998 was the first year for the 700 xt/xtc/deluxe in USA. Maybe Canada was different but seems unlikely, especially if you can find model number listings for Canada for both years to compare, or just call dealer.
