Noticed 2 cracks in the metal plate or body i guess, that the jackshaft goes through. Going to take off the jackshaft bearing (on clutch side) and have the plate welded. Is that stainless or aluminum? Anyone ever have this happen? In other words, cracks formed from the two holes that hold the bearing holders on, outwards.

If the cracks are in the frame, then it is aluminum. If they are in the bearing holder just get a new one.

Thanks, in the frame, not the holders. Will have it welded.

If he can control the heat it will remain stronger.

drill a small hole in the end of the cracks and have someone tig weld up the cracks then. I would also unplug the cdi box when you weld on the frame of the sled.
