My father has a nice 93' Exciter II and he wants to know if there is a reverse kit available. I tried to do a search and I didn't see anything about it. I'm thinking there isn't, but I thought I'd ask to make sure. I know I like it in my 02' Viper so it would be nice if he could have it to. Thank you.

Im not 100% sure, but I think if you were to find a venture chaincase/rev set up it may work. If I remember correctly I put a frankenstein Exciter together and I THINK I used a Phazer chain case. That was a few years ago and I think that is what I did. Maybe someone else can chime in with a more definitive answer.

never looked that close at the exciters but the phazer and venture share some stuff across. I do know that a venture reverse chain case is the same as the one on an et410 as I am keeping a venture one as a spare atm.

The Venture setup won't work without major modifications.
The center to center distance between the jackshaft and the driveshaft is shorter with the venture chaincase so you'd have nothing lined up right without lots of cutting and moving the drive axle and then needing 8 tooth drivers for track clearance.
The venture reverse chaincase can go into a phazer rather easily, but not an exciter.

what about a VK 540

vk540 has the same centre to centre as the venture and enticer. spline wise not too shure but I am shure on the c-c measurement as I looked for 3 years for something to repair my uncles 88 vk540 with a blown chaincase.

I thought the VK was based of the srv......now this has me thinking............anyway yes Yamaha dropped the ball getting into the reverse market and when they did it was too complicated until the proaction chassis

Okay thanks guys. That's about what I thought. He should get another sled with reverse. He just turned 65 and he can't really pull it out of his trailer anymore. I think he could get a descent price for his and upgrade to a pro action sled reasonably.
