Mice decided to make a home in the airbox of one of my 780 srx's and seem to have chewed out some of the holes, and I actually had the airbox off of my other 780 at the same time and got to comparing the two. Both of these airbox's were on the sleds when i bought them. I noticed they both have one of the bottom holes drilled out except on one of them the mag side hole is drilled and on the other it is the pto side that is drilled. What is the purpose of this and why the difference between the two? Both sleds have the bender cold air holes in the gauge pods/hood, but i noticed only one of the boxes has the holes also drilled in the top shelf of the airbox. Finaly I noticed that the top of one has a large hole where the other one has just a slot, and I'm assuming this is due to the mice, but I'm not sure since I didn't mod either of these airbox's. Anyone have any idea which box is correct/more correct that the other? I'm not sure which holes should/should not be enlarged or drilled in the first place.

Also, the spot with the question mark is enlarged as well. I'm assuming the mice also did this but I'm not sure if it may have been done by who ever modded the airbox.
Any input on what is/isn't right would be great. Thanks

The holes is the bottom are drain holes. No matter how good a set of reed valves are there is always a little bit of back blast through the carbs and into the airbox. The fuel will evaporate but then your left with the oil goo, which drips down on the jack shaft and fuel pump making a mess out of your nice clean engine compartment.

Any idea What the reason is that one hole has been drilled out on each of those boxes whereas all of the stock boxes I have here don't have any of the three enlarged at all?

those are just mouse chewed holes from the stock, sometimes they can chew it almost perfectly round to fit thru.
