I have a 2002 viper 8500 miles,I checked compression, pull cord side and center cylinders pump up good 90/first pull 120/2nd 130/3 134/4th clutch side cylinder goes 90,120,120,120 and maintains 120. I have seen other posts mention compression being stagger on these machines, is this normal? how much will parts cost? Should I do it myself? singed NEED KNOWLEDGE!

Compressions not bad. 8500 is when I did my rebuild just to be sure. Rings are alot cheaper than pistons, new cylinder, and potentially a crank. Top end rebuild is super easy. Compression only tells a small part of the story, a leak down test is best. I say go for it.

with that mileage, its due..........people think they will run forever and they will "run" for a long time but they dont make the power they used to make.

its not hard to do the topend on them.
