Alright so I bought my sled stock 3 years ago now. Done lots of different things to it. Mine is a 700 vmax. The type or riding I do is mainly powder fun. If you like riding powder these are some mods that will interest you.
5in bar riser. Makes a huge difference in the leverage you have to pull the sled over. Allows you to comfortably stand up. I had to get a new throttle, oil and brake cables but it was totally worth it.
Change the chaincase gears from 23/40 to 20/40. This turned the sled into an absolute monster. Take a step to the back of the running boards and watch the front end keep coming up. Work great having the extra lift and torque in the deeper snow. Also noticed better fuel mileage. Getting just as good mileage as my friends with newer efi sled. I never ride 100 plus mph so this was a no brained for me.
7in wide camoplast skis. The extra floatation kicks ***. Carving is easy and they're a bit lighter.
1.5 in camoplast challenger track. Big difference over the stock 1in. Grabs nice when carving and still good messing around on trails. Will go to 2in next season though.
Had pod filters on for a while but they made tuning brutal. Switched back to the stock box.
Small change but none the less I switched from a yamaha 8dn belt to the Carlisle ultimax. Noticeably less slippage when hitting peak rpm.
Anyways these are a few mods I fooled around with and though you guys might be interested in. Pipes and other goodies are to come.
