I can't remember off hand if they clear in that position. One way to be sure is to pull the shocks and run the skid through full travel. Be sure to move the transfer (coupling) full throw while completely compressed.

Anyone ever done this to give me some advice?

I was also going to install some scratchers. However, I thought they would perform much better if mounted to the ski's, this way they would spread snow and lubricant toward the center of the tracks rather than loosing most of all of the snow to the outside. Any thoughts as to why not?

Like you said, will not clear on full down suspension!!

They do work well when attached to the skis. The biggest challenge is keeping them from getting damaged, especially when backing up or in brushy areas. It is easy to forget to swing them up out of the way.
