Other than the exhaust valves, what's different between an 02 Vmax 700 and an 02/03 Viper ER? I enjoy riding my brother's Vmax, and have seen some good deals on Vipers. Thinking of maybe picking one up. What's the horsepower difference with the valves?

totally different motor, higher comp, powervalves, lighter crank, more porting, more timing, viper will be around 120-125 hp

The viper with have aluminum kyb shocks that can be rebuilt compared to the steel shocks on the vmax which can't be rebuilt. The chassis is pretty much the same thing. Viper having a bigger belly pan and hood over the vmax.

You can put the Viper shocks on the V-max.
