Went for a ride the other day bent the lower right arm on my 1999 srx 700 there are two arms on the sled what are they called I think I'm going to replace them both it's making my ski no sit straight! Any help would be great! Ware can I find the replacement arms?

radius rods. The upper bolt for the heim joint can be a complete pain in the arse to get to. If your heim is still good and tight (not wore out and sloppy) you can turn bent arm off and straight one right back on.

So you are saying pull it off bang it out back straight? Or the rod is two pieces and I can unscrew it from the head part, then replace just the rod?

Its 2 pieces. The rod portion has a cross tube that takes bushings and a bolt at the trailing arm, the other end (up under the sled) is a female threaded end that male heim joint threads into with a jam nut to lock it into place. If your heim is loose and sloppy I would pull the exhaust pipes and get at the bolt that goes threw the heim joint and replace it. If you heim is tight you can loosen jam nut and turn the rod off from the heim (like a tubular nut so to speak) You can try to "bang it back straight" but it would be a little weaker than a never bent one. Doing it this way you may not be able to get camber exactly right, due to the slight angle cross tube is welded on you have to go a complete rotation in or out so that angle of bolt at trailing arm is right. With the bolt out of the heim you can turn heim 1/2 a turn in or out. All depends on how hard you want to work for the adjustment.....with this I am a "close enough is good enough" as you will be hard notice 1 or 2 degrees of camber riding it.

Ok cool man for now il bang it out until I find a used rod the joints are fine a rock bent up the lower rod! I just want it to be straight I don't want to fly down a trail worrying about what direction the ski is trying to send me!

i've had to replace the lower left arm twice on my sxr, keep hitting undersnow stumps in the wood lot. takes about 10 minutes to replace 1. you have to pull the exhaust, the bolts for the 1 end are underneath it. then, a few minutes later i'm putting the exhaust back on. my yamaha dealer had the for $50, i also found them used at a snowmachine salvage for about half that.

He is working on a SRX......3 exhaust pipes = triple the work pulling the exhaust and triple the work putting it back on. Radius rod bolts are a little harder to get at as well due to a slightly different belly pan.

Got a arm on the way from another member! Today I heated my current arm and bent it out will work for now while I have snow maybe 2 more weeks! Thanks again guys!!
