Hi all, I was trying to buy a replacement oil pump for a 97 Vmax 600 twin cylinder but Yamaha sports plaza is showing two part numbers. Perhaps one is for the 600 triple... Any idea which is which?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Thank you! Damn, these things are expensive! It would be nice if they made rebuild kits!

Yes, not cheap, but my sled ran a lot better with a new pump, didn't suck oil, and didn't make a huge blue cloud and foul plugs.
Yamaha had problems these in the first year or 2 of the proaction chassis. These are the only oil pumps I've seen on any brand to fail. I've got over 11k on my Indy trail on the original pump, no issues and no failure dumping oil.

Interesting. Well we found the problem. Someone replaced the throttle lever with an aftermarket, causing slack in the throttle cable, and therefore misadjusting oil pump settings. A lot cheaper fix than a new pump!
A couple of bucks
