A sled like this is a rare find, but what would you pay? I'm thinking about going this weekend but unsure. Still a month of riding left.

Just stole a 02 viper with 1300 miles from a dealer looking to make room ($1600). Showroom condition, couldn't believe it. That SRX would be a nice addition.

Being an 02 with DCS it's worth a little more. This late in the riding season (our trails close 4/1) it would have to be MINTY clean for me to pull the trigger at $2950.

Well 3 years ago I bought an extremely clean original owner 02 srx with under 1500 mi for $3300. Ya that price was certainly on the high side but, what made the deal somewhat more appealing was the seller met me halfway on the drive and saved me probably 6hrs or more of driving time and at least a couple hundred in gas money. Plus, I just had to have it.
I had wanted an srx for a long time and almost bought a brand new one in the crate back around 2004 (yes there were still some available) and ended up not taking the plunge. Then around fall of 2010 there was one still in the crate for sale on ebay for around 8 grand (I think). Well it didn't sell at that price and was never offered again. I figure my purchase was the best opportunity to get an "almost new" sled, but one you could still actually ride. It would be a tough decision to have purchased that new "in the crate sled" and actually ride it. Certainly a collectors item while still in the crate or with zero miles.

to travel that far i would make sure he would hold it for you. That would suck to get all that way and come back with nothing.

I would buy that in a heartbeat, sacked out ones here in canada go for $3500...if I can find a cherry one I'm having it regardless of price! Well worth it!

For what ever reason sleds fetch 25% (or more) in Canada. I sold 2 01 SRX 700's this year. One for $1300 and other for $1700. $1300 was fair price for what sled was overall....felt pretty good about the $1700 I got for the other. Both were towards the start of the season. Right now is when every one is getting rid of them so they don't have to store them another summer.

I am seriously making a trip to the states to fill a 24ft car hauler with low mile srx's!
Here just a mulated chassis goes for $500-800 if you can find one...i have almost 4k into my 02 rebuild...couldn't find one locally so had to build up the only 02 I could find that was in rough condition...I would sell every single one easily...these relics are beginning to be in demand now...using all oem parts really drove up the cost of the rebuild but I know what I have now!

Hi Guys,

The guy is going to hold it for me till May. He said if I'm coming that far he'll hold it. He stored it last week in his barn and now there is a tractor, wood splitter, and farm truck in front of it. He said when the soil dries out a bit in May he will move that stuff out so I can get to it. Said he wished I would have called 2 weeks earlier when it was still out.

You are right that people pay crazy prices in Canada. Maybe the reason is they can ride these 10 months out of the year while we have to store them. To them a 12k miles SRX is probably low mileage ha ha.

The trip is going to cost me $500 plus, but I have to be down there in May anyway so it'll work out. Factor in what my time would be worth if I was working....I might as well stay home, but I gotta have this SRX!

What is required for someone to take a sled across the border, what would it take for a US citizen to sell one to a Canadian?

Not sure about a sled but have sold 2 enclosed (clam shell) trailers to the same guy a few months apart. He says aint no big deal. Have to stop at cutoms and have them run vin number check and all good to go. Both trailers I listed on Craigslist and had a few "locals" come look at and offer 60% of my asking price. He was happy to give 100% on the first one and gave me an extra $100 to meet him in Mackinac city with the second one.
