Thinking about dumping some ATF down my cylinders to clean the carbon out of the engine/powervalves (good/bad idea?), ATF in the carbs to prevent ethanol sludge, wipe everything down under the hood with oil to prevent rust......what do you guys do for summer storage?

I usually fog with fogging oil, drain carbs and tank, stuff a rag in the pipe to keep the mice out. Wash, wax and armor all everything, some of the metal parts under the hood get sprayed with fogging oil to prevent rust. I also leave the cover off and just throw an old bed sheet over it, my cover is water proof so I'm thinking that might keep moisture trapped inside.

I would either spray silicone spray (what is recommended in my manual) or wd-40 all over the place under the hood. I use wd-40, but either will work. Heard good and bad about ATF. I personally wouldn't do it...I put 60ml of stabil in tank then fill it up to the very top. I drain it all before winter and use it in the snowblower and start fresh with 91 octane in the sled

Fogging oil for internals, Drain gas completely, ball to stuff into the exhausts, handlebar pad and air filter get removed. Belt removed. Fluid film gets sprayed over the entire motor, wiped on clutch sheaves and everything else metal. I've done the WD-40, Silicone spray, etc, all that stuff just evaporates in no time. Fluid film is awesome! still there in the fall when pre-season starts.

Marine Stabil at max amount. I believe it's 1 oz / 5 gallons. It is an excellent way to loosen up any shtuff in the carbs. And keeps them spotless when used during the riding season.

Always drain the carbs. My father lost a piston 25years ago in a new bravo LT.Dealer gave him a break on the repair(Under $200)Lesson learned the hard way.
I always put sea foam and a little oil in a full tank of 91
Octane non-ethanol...and just run the sled up to temperature at least every month...have stuck rings in the past using fogging oil.
Just full service the sled, clean it well, elevate the sled so no weight is on the suspension and use wd40 underhood and your golden
