Do I really need to have a thermostat? Or is it actually gonna help cool down my sled? The old one is broke so I'd need to buy one but I also need to hav the head machines and then the cylinder replaced

It will help warm the engine up to prevent a cold seizure.

It also helps regulate how long the coolant is in the engine/coolers. Not necessary for racing but you need it for trail riding. Without it the coolant temperature will just keep climbing. Some systems use a restrictor instead but if your sled has a thermostat you need it

Okay, thanks. Any suggestions on 2 stroke oils? It still has a good oil injection pump so I will be using it

If you need head work check for a used head with thermostat included, a lot of guys don't pull them off when they ebay them or sell otherwise.
