My 1990 exciter 570 , which is ususally a very reliable sled, will not start this year. I have put fresh gas with a little dry gas in the tank, confirmed that the fuel pump is pumping, cleaned the carbs(twice), and it has fresh plugs that seem to have nice blue spark. I think the sled is flooding out, I can barely get a cough out of her when I pull it over. Just because I had run out of things to try, I pulled the exhaust off and checked for restrictions, which was fine. While I had it off I tried to start it just for kicks. It ran. I had forgotten that I only had the plugs in finger tight, but noticed that fuel was coming out of the spark plug hole on the mag side of the engine and that raw fuel was being spit out the exhaust manifold. This is when I pulled the carbs off for the second time, expecting to find a needle and seat/float issue. They all seem fine. I think the choke plungers are o working correctly, never had any problems before. Could I have the crankcase so flooded that it will not fire? Why would it fire wiht no exhaust , but when I snapped the muffler back on, it wouldn't even try to run.
